Into our lives a little bit of sunshine falls. The wonderful children, staff and parents of Islington Public School fundraised for a concept "Clean drinking water for children overseas who don't have it regularly". The cheque was waiting to be sent to an organisation which could fulfill this object and fortunately they found us!! The result is that we will expand this money three fold through partnering with a Global Grant with the Rotary Club of Downtown Los Angeles. They are working on a series of staged grants with the RC of Suni Migori in western Kenya to provide new tanks, taps and latrines for schools in that county. The Wasrag (Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group) newsletter had just the right project highlighted. The school was delighted and we are happy, problem solved. We will provide ongoing support to a very special local school with a Community Building Partnerships grant application to restore their basketball courts, hoping we are successful.
