With Rita and Ian from MBA, Julia, Damien, John from Rotary and approx 40 YWAMers we ran a smooth production line... grab the old potted trees from the street, the new pots from FFF cage. Lift the trees out of the old pots, saw the roots off and trim the foliage. Place them in new pots with fresh composted soil and place them gently back on the street. All done by 3.30pm and then Rita took a team of YWAM girls down Maitland Rd, to paint the pots outside Pork Ewe Deli and clean cobwebs from our hook lighting.
Thanks to Julia also for catering for the hordes! My kids came home and didn't tell Mum anything about pots or trees, just how much watermelon and lollies they ate...
The YWAMers were very keen to help and followed instructions perfectly. Abbey even spent time chatting with the locals who passed through the park. Thank you all sooo much.
Congratulations everyone!

How could that be topped! What an encouraging email to receive. It was hard work but a l-l-o-o-o-t-t- of fun!! Now Mayfield is looking better than ever. Next lot of pots will arrive in November but won't be repotted then - too close to Summer which is expected to be long and hot and not kind to plants trying to re-establish after the trauma of repotting.. Closer to Winter will be best.
