Sunday 18th January was the first Third-Sunday-of-the-Month planting day for Kooragang Volunteers on Ash Island at Hexham. Karina Keeton, RCNE's team member, is employed by Local Land Services on Ash Island, and other places in the estuary of the Hunter River, for Kooragang Wetland Rehabilitation Project. She was joined by her team members for a morning's planting. Good day too- 300 plants in the ground and the usual fruit/cheese/cake morning tea afterwards. Pilgrim Triangle mowed and ready for planting, then the first of around 1200 ground-cover and woodland species which will be planted there this year. The plantings will grow into terrestrial habitat for Green and Golden Bell frogs.
