Grace Chiboagui Okaro and Dickson Nwosu from the Rotary Club of Umuahia arrived on Sunday. Rtn Damian and Patrick met them at the airport and drove them back to Newcastle, with Max the Wonder Dog as assistant meeter/greeter. Grace and Dickson are from Rotary District 9140 in Nigeria. Grace opened our meeting for us and enthralled us all with a presentation on Nigeria, its culture, economy and politics. Three more Rotarians from District 9140 will arrive on Thursday to spend time in the Hunter Region before attending the International Convention in Sydney. All the visitors are being hosted by Rotarians in District 9670.
This is a warmly friendly way of getting to know other people. It is a Friendship Exchange so as Hosts we can go to Nigeria as Guests and become immersed in the country and its people - wonderful idea. |
