On Sunday three of us - one battling man-flu and the other two just plain feeling like rubbish - decided we had better fulfill our obligations and deal with graffiti. Met up at Webb Park as usual but the amount of rubbish was horrible - filled three garbage bags with everything from fast-food wrappers to a used baby nappy to a brown paper bag full of broken glass (used to be an empty long-neck). That was enough - too tired - went to have lunch at Stockton Bridge and check out a site nominated too late to be included for Graffiti Removal Day. Lots of people dropping in to check the migratory bird roost. Big bunch of Avocets and Eastern Curlews as well as other species our lousy binoculars couldn't really distinguish. The National Parks and Wildlife sign and the information shelter had been severely graffiti-ed making it almost unreadable - couldn't bare to leave it so with our special wipes we gave it a good clean off and wash down and it's sparkly again. The "outdoor art" has been reported to Roads and Maritime Services.
