![]() Inspecting the site next to Throsby Creek which is targeted for painting over on October 20th on the statewide Graffiti Removal Day. There are two commissioned art pieces on the site which have to be respected and protected. The tags are on the rear wall of the old wool sheds on Hannell Street at Maryville. Newcastle City Council has a "Make Your Place" grant program. Only incorporated bodies can apply for them so RCNE auspiced a grant application for the Kooragang Volunteers, the Landcare group who do so much good work on Ash Island at Hexham and in other places in the estuary of the Hunter River. It was successful and the volunteers will be able to have a celebratory event for children and their families.
