Ben who has recently moved back into Newcastle, a former RYLA-rian through Charlestown club and someone who believes in giving back - Thank You.
Mark Lowe from Newcastle Council came to help out. Fiona was impressed with his great teaching skills and how he made Josh feel at ease and have a lot of fun with the water-blaster.
Club members turned up and got to with a will - sorry for those who missed out. It was hot but it was fun. Bob got a Brick-dust facial scrub doing the water-blasting on the cement block wall. Josh and Rachael turned the graffiti-ed door into a lovely Red Door. Max the Wonder Dog was feeling the effects of two long days at work with Damian and "supervised" from a prone position in the best shade.
Damian - well would graffiti removal ever happen if it wasn't for him and his tireless energy? - although he rang later to stay he was still rehydrating under the airconditioner. Betty, Margaret M and John B did bits of everything. The roller for corrugated surfaces are heavy and awkward when full of paint so cutting in and brush work is important. Betty swore she was going to sign her bit of brushed walk she was so pleased with it!! Gary was BBQ chef with Patrick and they flipped the snags for all of us. We earned a spread of snags, watermelon, cheese and bikkies, lamingtons and Anzac bikkies. Patrick was hanging out for coffee but all we had was lots and lots of iced water and Apple/Raspberry cordial. Boy did that go down a treat. Good day, good job well done, and will we do it again next year?
